Saturday in Rome

Claudia's man's store. Right there on the corner we'd need our GPS to find again. We spend all the live long day getting on and off the bus. We saw a lot but not nearly all the history. That's for another time. We're gaining land legs all the time.
This Coliseum is bigger than life. Time didn't allow all we wanted to read and see too. Pictures are the great memory book for us. We think of our dear friends LeRoy and Marilyn Delger every day. They had planned to go on this trip with us and health issues forced their wise choice to delay their trip. We'll go yet with them.
Only five euros to take your own picture with this ancient of men. In front of the Pantheon where Agrippa built a Basilica to himself. No one wants to be forgotten. Some want it more than others. We're reading everything we can thanks to the Internet. We feel like time travelers coming back in time, walking where so many walked. Modern man stands of the shoulders of some good and not so good ancestors. Notoriety doesn't always connote honorable as well.
Piazza Navona is a great cultural location to see and feel the beauty and people of Rome. While there are lots of travelers, this time of year is not nearly so busy as summer. No lines anyplace. Small waits in really popular places only. Piazza's are located in every corner of the city. Walking is the best way to see the sites with an occasional bus to sit down and get the few blocks to the next site.
