Our adventure begins Today

Here we are, its 4:03am in the balmy southwest desert, not able to sleep any after 3:00am.  This is an old picture from our trip to Peru a couple of years ago.  Machu Picchu is  the background so don't think we remodeled our back yard.  I'll send more pictures throughout the trip to Rome today.  We fly in three hours for 16, arriving 8:30am tomorrow Italy time. 

 Our driver is coming in an hour, our car is almost loaded and its black as the inside of a cow.  Being gone for this long, without a car, is a test of our packing abilities.  We need our kids here to help us pack all this 'stuff'.  With the electronic gadgets, music, camera, vids, and laptop, we're loaded.  Once we close the door on the plane the time for planning is over.  Now is the time to remember what we can't do without.  As long as we have our important papers and some money and plastic, we're good. So as they say in Italy:
