Northern Italy and on to France

Thursday was a beautiful day in Como.  Our hotel was a beauty located in a beautiful place.  The earth is so grand to behold.  Our travels took us back along the edge of the lake and on to Milan where we spent the night, returned our car, then slept before boarding the train for Paris.

Pictures never communicate the complete range of feelings felt best by actual personal experience but if you will allow yourself the imagination of seeing as though you are present in this warm but seasonally fall climate the beauty will permeate.

High on the hill above the settlement, one courageous soul constructed this beauty to capture the view of Lake Como from two levels above the ground floor.  Imagine also this fall scene shrouded in snow which occasionally measures up to three feet on the front porch.

My trusty travel buddy and wonderful eternal companion is prepared for any need with a series of bags and tools.  Its fall you know so an umbrella is essential .

Centrale Statione in Milan serves the northern travelers needs accessing most of Europe from this aged and historic location.

Viewing the scenery from a speeding train can be challenging. This hill top retreat conjured up interest in how this historical sight was set atop this spot and why it is here other than a prominent viewing location.  Forgive the poor photo  but we were moving right along our pathway to Paris.

Mid-way through the day we passed through this lovely scene directly in the Alps.  Albertville was the site of the Winter Olympics several times ago.

Hill top castles dot the landscape providing plenty of advance warning of any intruders.

Paris was bustling with traffic on this Saints day holiday.  Mike picked us up from the train station and gave us the mini-Paris road tour.  Rain threatened but held off throughout the afternoon.  We were soon at their flat in Versailles.  What a charming place to live.
